Free ADAC XML viewer and editor for civil infrastructure assets

The ADACT ADAC Viewer is provided by ADACT SOLUTIONS PTY LTD as a free browser-based tool for viewing, validating, reviewing and editing ADAC XML files. Current capabilities may include supported schema validation, suggested repairs, mapped asset inspection, DXF reference drawings, reference overlays, measurements, labels, attribute and geometry editing, bulk updates, recalculation guidance, asset duplication, line splitting or deletion, XML merging, PDF reports and downloadable XML working copies.

The tool and all displayed, calculated, repaired, edited or exported outputs are provided "as is" for review assistance only. They are not a substitute for certified engineering validation, survey verification, council or utility acceptance processes, source records, professional judgment, or any software or procedure required by a receiving authority.

Terms and conditions

1. Permitted use: The viewer may be used for professional, commercial and general ADAC review workflows. It is provided free of charge and without warranties as to availability, fitness for purpose, completeness or acceptance by any council, utility or other receiving authority.
2. Browser processing and data responsibility: XML and DXF file contents, filenames, individual asset attributes and edited values are processed within the user's browser rather than submitted to ADACT SOLUTIONS PTY LTD. The viewer may privately record declared project metadata including project, surveyor, engineer and receiver names, software product, drawing location, schema version, asset count and controlled viewer-tool events. Third-party maps, overlays, analytics, links and suggestion services may also make network requests. Users must have authority to use and share the project information they load. 3. Working copies and user edits: Uploaded XML files are not overwritten. Repairs, attribute changes, geometry edits, bulk updates, recalculations, duplications, deletions and merges are applied to temporary working copies. Changes may be lost when the page is refreshed or closed unless the user downloads the edited or merged XML. Users are responsible for reviewing every change and retaining appropriate source and revision records.
4. Schema validation and suggested repairs: Validation is limited to the ADAC schema versions and rules supported by the viewer. A schema-valid result confirms supported XML structure and allowed values only; it does not prove engineering accuracy, survey accuracy, completeness, topology, asset connectivity, ownership, receiver acceptance or project compliance. Suggested fixes and automated repair previews are guidance only and may not reflect the intended engineering meaning.
5. Calculated and spatial outputs: Measurements, labels, map placement, coordinate interpretation, lengths, grades, depths, offsets, direction changes and optional recalculations may be approximate, incomplete or dependent on the uploaded data. Warnings do not identify every possible dependency. Users must independently verify geometry and derived values before relying on them.
6. DXF references: Uploaded DXF drawings are displayed as temporary, read-only visual and snapping references. DXF interpretation may omit or approximate unsupported entities, fonts, external references, proxy objects, three-dimensional content or CAD-specific display behaviour. The viewer does not modify or export the uploaded DXF, and users must confirm drawing units, coordinates and alignment before using it to edit XML geometry.
7. Reports and downloaded files: PDF reports, repaired XML, edited XML and merged XML downloads are review outputs, not certified documents or evidence of submission acceptance. Users are responsible for checking downloaded files against source information, the applicable ADAC schema, receiver requirements and professional obligations.
8. Third-party data sources: Map backgrounds, satellite imagery, cadastre, council, utility, REST services and other reference overlays may be supplied by third parties and may be incomplete, unavailable, delayed or subject to separate terms, licences and attribution requirements. Users are responsible for complying with provider requirements, including those applying to Unitywater public data where relevant.
9. Intellectual property: The ADACT ADAC Viewer interface, structure, source code, branding and associated content are the intellectual property of ADACT SOLUTIONS PTY LTD unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, modify or reverse engineer any part of the viewer without prior written consent, except where permitted by law.
10. Liability: To the fullest extent permitted under Australian law, ADACT SOLUTIONS PTY LTD disclaims liability for loss, damage, delay, decisions, rework, data loss, compliance issues, submission rejection, or indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the viewer or its outputs.
11. User conduct: Users must not use the viewer for unlawful, malicious, automated, excessive or disruptive purposes, or attempt to compromise the security, integrity, availability or operation of the site or third-party services.
12. Changes to the tool or terms: Features, supported schemas, third-party services and these terms may be changed, suspended or withdrawn at any time. Continued use after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
13. Governing law: These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland and the applicable federal laws of Australia. Disputes arising from use of the viewer are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
